The impossible idea
Every person in the industry told us the same thing: you can’t build a minimalist dress watch with a full, open dial, powered by light, with no visible solar cell - not without compromising the design. We were naive enough to disagree.
In April 2019, the first Solar Classics reached real wrists. The proof, at last, that light could power a watch that is minimalist, beautiful, and sustainable.
By 2020, these initial collections pushed us far enough to become the first watch brand in the world to earn B Corp certification — proof that better could also be beautiful.
And now, they retire. Not with a slow fade — with a proper send-off. If you'd like to carry a piece of where Solios began, the Classic & Mini Farewell is on: 30% off, while the final units last.
Your questions, answered
Nothing changes. Every Solar Classic and Solar Mini is covered by the same limited 3-year warranty — retired or not. And our in-house repair workshop will keep servicing them for years to come. Retiring the collection doesn't mean retiring our care for it.
Every in-stock watch leaves our workshop within 2–5 business days, with free international expedited shipping and signature on delivery — so it arrives safely, wherever you are.
Our goal is simple: that every watch gets worn for years. If it's not the one, you have 30 days from delivery to return or exchange it — just keep the original packaging and unworn condition. One note for the Farewell: exchanges depend on remaining stock, so once a model sells out, we'll offer a refund or another available piece.
It keeps running. A full charge holds up to a year of power reserve, and it tops up from any light — sunlight or the lamp on your desk. More than enough to carry it through a full Canadian winter, and then some. Goodbye, dead batteries.
The solar-quartz movement inside every Solios runs to within ±20 seconds a month — more precise than luxury mechanical watches worth tens of thousands. And where those need regular servicing (disassembly, lubrication, regulation), a Solios needs none. The accuracy is built in. The maintenance isn't.
No. When the Farewell ends, they retire for good — they won't be remade. What you see is the final run.
